Short review/endorsement:

5 out of 5 stars. The patterns in this book are extremely detailed,
some covering as many as 14 pages. I find the history fascinating along with
the patterns.

Make room in your tote bag! This book isn't going to sit on the shelf.

It will be in constant use. Marianne Isager is a prolific and popular designer whose books have been translated into English for several years, thank goodness! Remember Knitting Out of Africa? That came first, followed by Classic Knits and Japanese-Inspired Knits, and now she's taking us to South America. With nothing more than knit-and-purl techniques and the use of lightweight yarns, intermediate and experienced knitters will find it easy to create the unique and colorful projects. Color, stitch pattern, unusual forms of construction, and great attention to detail make each and every sweater and cap a masterpiece.
