You are only decreasing 8 sts on every second row. In the pattern you use to knit 2 tog, and by knitting 3 tog you get a decrease of 1 sts...
ZigZag Shawl – how to make the Pompons Make pompons in different colours and place them along the two short sides or along one of the long sides of the shawl. How to make the pompons: Cut 2 circular pieces of cardboard the width of the desired pompon, cut a centre hole and cut a pie shape wedge out of the circle. Hold the 2 circles together and wrap the yarn tightly around the cardboard. Carefully cut the yarn along the outer edge of the circle, leading the scissors between the two circles. Tie a piece of yarn tightly between the two circles and around the yarn. Remove the cardboard and trim the pompon.
